CAUSE; EFFECT by Carla Y. Emanuele
April 27th, 2014 @ 3:00 PM
Synopsis: A stranger picks up the gritty details of a woman’s past to try and change their future. A night at a bus stop turns into a twisted story of blackmail and corruption. A young woman with a pile of fresh, new mistakes banks on the buried past of someone she crosses in a chance meeting. Who really has the upper hand? Who can actually come out on top when no one is better than the other? Everyone’s got something; who’s going to get yours?
CAST
LAND WARRIOR by Mary Baldridge
May 25th, 2014 @ 3:00 PM
Synopsis: LAND WARRIOR is a powerful anti-war play, told from the wife’s point-of-view. When her husband returns, bringing the war – and the ghosts of war -- home with him, she becomes, inevitably, a victim of collateral damage.
CAST
AN APPEAL TO HEAVEN by Matthew Hansen Wetsel
June 29th, 2014 @ 3:00 PM
Synopsis: AN APPEAL TO HEAVEN is a play about excess and how money corrupts absolutely. It follows four college seniors on their Winter Break in the Hamptons and all of the ensuing debauchery that quickly spirals out of control until they are incapable of ‘turning back;’ there is no redemption. These addled youths personify the shining promise of a once great nation rotting from the inside out. They are an open sore we allow to fester, parasites, vermin. They aren’t people. They are a self-induced plague that society has conjured with its exultation of greed, luxury lifestyles and the importance of an individual’s desires over the needs of the many.
CAST
ICARUS WINGED by Emilio Iasiello
July 27th, 2014 @ 3:00 PM
Synopsis: ACE is a rock and roll star beginning to hit it big. CALLY, a muse, considers Ace a pure artist and takes him to an island to inspire him to work on a breakthrough album. However, every time he gets started on a new song, Cally puts the breaks on. She tells him he’s forcing it,
not allowing the art to come through the pressure to write songs. So she tells him stories about artists – real artists – those who bled and died for their work. But another musician’s name comes up during the discussion – ROOK – a now famous smash success who used to be Cally’s
devotee. But Rook took the wrong path to his stardom and warns Ace that he’s at the crossroads of sticking with his art or going Top Forty.
Sure enough, Rook finds Ace and Cally. He’s been looking for her. He’s coming off a bad album and needs to find the magic again. The struggle for Cally begins between the pure artist and the corrupt artist. But as they battle to see who will win the rights to Cally’s powers, Rook teaches Ace a thing or two about the business and what’s expected of an artist by society, which is something that not even Cally can argue against.
